Hello there !
Here's a lesson about "each other" and one exercise.
Have a nice evening !
We use a reflexive pronoun when the subject and object are the same. We use 'each other' when the subject and object are not the same.
We looked at ourselves (I looked at myself in the mirror and you looked at yourself).
- We looked at each other (I looked at you and you looked at me).
- They talk to themselves (person 1 talks to person 1 and person 2 talks to person 2).
- They talk to each other (person 1 talks to person 2 and person 2 talks to person 1).
- We sent ourselves presents. (I sent a present to myself and you sent a present to yourself.)
- We sent each other presents. (I sent a present to you and you sent a present to me.)
We can also use 'one another' instead of 'each other'.
Other examples :
James and Julia looked at each other. (James looked at Julia and Julia looked at James.)
- We sent emails to each other. (I sent an email to you and you sent an email to me.)
- They called each other. (David called Lucy and Lucy called David.)
Let's practise!
Choose 'each other' or 'ourselves / themselves'.
- We saw __________________ across the street. (I saw you and you saw me.)
- We took photos of __________________. (The photos were selfies!)
- They waved to __________________. (One person waved to the other person and the other person waved back.)
- They looked at __________________ in the mirror. (James looked at James and Lucy looked at Lucy.)
- We gave __________________ gifts. (I gave you a gift and you gave me a gift.)

Hi there !
I hope you're fine ! Today, let's discover another Irish legend !
Have a nice evening !
The Salmon of Kownledge
In the river Boyne there was a magic fish called the Salmon of Knowledge. It was said that the first person to taste its flesh would be wiser than all other men. Finegas was a poet who lived near the River Boyne, where he read books and wrote poems. He was one of the wisest men in Ireland. Finegas had tried for seven years to catch the fish but he had no luck.
A young warrior named Fionn had come to live with Finegas. Fionn was unaware of the legend about the salmon of knowledge. When Fionn asked Finegas why he spend his days fishing, Finegas just smiled and gave no answer. Then one morning in springtime, Fionn heard a shout and a mighty splash. Finegas had caught a salmon. It was a beautiful fish and its body shone like silver. Finegas immediately knew he had caught the salmon of knowledge.

Hello everyone !
Let's read one of the most famous Irish legends.
The Giant's Causeway
Long long ago there lived a giant named Finn McCool. He was the biggest and strongest giant in all of Ireland. He was 54 foot tall and he was said to have the strength of 500 men. His voice could be heard for miles around. He lived happily with his wife Oonagh on the Antrim coast. At the same time there lived a giant name Benandonner on the Scottish coast. Benandonner believed that he was the strongest of all the giants. He constantly taunted and shouted at Finn from across the water. One day Finn became so mad with Benandonner that he picked up a huge lump of earth and throw it at him. The earth miss but it landed in the middle of the Irish sea making the Isle of Man. The hole left by Finn became Lough Neagh.
